Privacy Policy
This policy explains how personal data is handled when you visit this website and how your information is treated when you choose to donate.
Last updated: July 2026
1. Who is responsible for your data
This website is published by 8th Artillery Brigade "Harmash"(“we”, “us”) in partnership with Volunteers for Ukraine, the charitable organisation that operates the fundraising and payment process. For any privacy question, or to exercise the rights described below, contact us at [email protected].
2. What this website collects
This is a static informational website. It contains no contact forms, accounts, logins, or analytics or advertising trackers, and it does not ask you for any personal information.
Like virtually all websites, the hosting provider and content-delivery network that serve these pages automatically process limited technical data — such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of your request — in server logs. This is necessary to deliver the site securely and to prevent abuse. We do not use this data to identify you and do not combine it with any other information.
3. When you make a donation
When you choose to donate, you are taken to a payment page operated by Volunteers for Ukraine and processed through Stripe, Inc.. Any name, email address, and payment details you enter there are collected and controlled by those organisations under their own privacy policies — not by this website. We never see or store your payment card details.
We may receive anonymised, aggregate totals (for example, the amount raised) that do not identify individual donors.
4. Legal basis for processing
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), UK GDPR, or the Ukrainian Law “On Personal Data Protection” applies, the limited technical processing described above relies on our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functional website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Donation processing carried out by Volunteers for Ukraine and Stripe, Inc. relies on their own lawful bases, including performance of the transaction you request.
5. Sharing and international transfers
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. Technical log data is handled only by our hosting and delivery providers acting on our behalf. Because our partners and processors may operate outside your country, your data may be transferred internationally; those transfers are governed by the safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) maintained by Volunteers for Ukraine and Stripe, Inc..
6. How long data is kept
We do not maintain any database of visitors or donors. Technical server logs are retained only for as long as needed for security and operational purposes and are then deleted or anonymised. Donation records are retained by Volunteers for Ukraine in line with their obligations (including accounting and tax law).
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data; to restrict or object to its processing; to data portability; and to withdraw any consent at any time. Because the personal data connected with donations is held by Volunteers for Ukraine and Stripe, Inc., requests concerning that data are best directed to them; we will help you reach the right party.
If you believe your data has been handled unlawfully, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority (in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights).
8. Children
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly process the personal data of anyone under the age required to consent to a donation in their jurisdiction.
9. Cookies
This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies. For full details, see our Cookie Policy.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time; the “last updated” date above will change accordingly. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
